In honor of the late Chief Albert Luthuli, the annual Luthuli Legacy Programme in July was done in partnership between the Luthuli Museum, Enterprise iLembe, KwaDukuza Municipality, Department of Sports and Recreation and Mgeni Water was indeed bigger and better. There was a series of events set to commemorate Chief Luthuli’s untimely death in July 1967. Luthuli detachment dialogue was one of the events to educate about the life of Chief Albert Luthuli.
The Museum hosted a dialogue session on Saturday the 20th of July at Luthuli Museum. Discussants made up of former members of Luthuli Detachment shared their personal experiences of the struggle for freedom in South Africa. The topic under discussion was ‘Luthuli Detachment: Documenting Liberation History of ‘Just Brave Men’.
